Is It All About You?
Tip: If you’re not willing to share with others; you are restricting your chances for success
Fred and I recently went to a premier showing of my friend Stephen Simon’s new movie, CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD. (You may remember other films that Stephen produced such as Smokey and the Bandit, Goodbye Girl, Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come)
Conversations with God tells how Neale Donald Walsch went from being homeless, to a best selling author. But more than that; how his paradigm of life shifted as he became aware of the voice of God/himself and his role in creating the life that he wants.
One of the most powerful lines in the movie that shares a key to everyday success is: To create abundance in your life; bring abundance to someone else’s. It sound’s simple, doesn’t it? And yet how many times have you pulled back from giving money, love, or knowledge to others?
Fred: I remember many years ago I was asked to give a lecture on the secrets of how I developed my business. I didn’t want to give away what I had taken years to learn and felt resentful. It was at a time in my life that everything was going wrong. My businesses was failing, I was having partnership issues, etc. Something in the back of mind or maybe a voice or “A conversation with God“, told me to go ahead and do the lecture. What happened next was a miracle. The more I gave away my knowledge and my secrets the more that came back to me. MY business grew and I became one of the top gurus in my field. All this because I was willing to share and help other create abundance.
Lyna: When I first started my business; there were a lot of faux finishers in my small town. I started teaching my skills to others to help me make a living. Some of my competitors felt that I was creating more competition- and were very upset. But what I discovered was that there is plenty of work for everyone and that my sharing attitude actually brought me clients and opportunities that I never would have had if I had not been open to helping others succeed. . I know this because many of those upset competitors either moved out of town or stopped painting because they couldn’t get enough work.
Fred: It’s inspiring to hear about successful people such as Bill Gates and Pierre Omidyar (founder of eBay) . Even after they acquired their wealth; they are giving back in big ways- they live in this flow of giving everyday. And we can too.
Remember—If you want to create abundance in your life; bring abundance to someone else.
